Brookline, NH Design-Build Home Addition Project
Insights Into This Home Addition Project
It is always an honor when former clients reach out to us for additional projects. In this particular case, we had previously undertaken the remodeling of both the kitchen and basement, in addition to constructing the garage and breezeway for these former clients. Our clients already had a beautiful home. Nevertheless, one essential element was still lacking: a family room where their family could gather together comfortably.
They envisioned a design where the new family room seamlessly connected to their spacious kitchen, creating an ideal setting for entertaining and cherished family gatherings.
This addition became the missing piece of the puzzle, transforming their house into the home they had always desired. With tall cathedral ceilings that added an air of grandeur, the design also featured a niche to display something close to their hearts and a large ceiling fan to move the air. The flooring was another key element for these clients, and, in response, we installed custom, random-width hickory flooring that perfectly complemented the home’s style.
While their home had an exposed beam aesthetic, their desire was to incorporate rough-sawn beams into the cathedral ceiling framing to maintain that charming look. Additionally, they wanted to optimize their space by removing and reinstalling their existing deck against the new addition, avoiding the need to build a new one.
But the vision didn’t stop there. Our clients also sought to expand the space in their basement to create more finished living areas, which led to the request for a full basement beneath the addition, complete with a walk-out feature.
With numerous objectives in mind, they turned to Build Savvy for guidance in formulating a plan and design that would naturally integrate with their home. Being selected to design and construct this pivotal component of their dream home was a testament to the trust they placed in Build Savvy. It was truly a pleasure for us to continue assisting them in realizing the house of their dreams.
